The first 5 years: 1999 - 2004
1999 - KIS opens at the Tottenham Green Enterprise Centre
- Awarded first contract by the College of North East London
- 2 contracts awarded by the Prince's Trust
- KIS logo designed by Soy Rawat (RIP)
2000 - KIS awards first level 1 & 2 Vocational Qualifications to 40 local Haringey NEET learners
- First staff employed of two tutors and one administrator
- Awarded Partnership Delivery Contract for The Prince's Trust in Hackney
2001 - Started working with the Learning & Skills Council delivering Level 2 qualifications
to local young people from socially excluded backgrounds
2002 - Started working with the "Seven Sisters - New Deal for the Community"
delivering Business Support and Neighbourhood Learning
- Awarded Investors in People
- Shortlisted for a "Community Award" by London Borough of Hackney for contribution
made to helping socially excluded young people in Hackney
2003 - KIS staff team grows with the addition of 4 new contracts
- Awarded Matrix Quality Benchmark
- KIS Team Leader, Amanda Stickland, nominated for a Prince's Trust "Team Leader of
the Year Award"
- Appointed Approved Awarding Centre for City & Guilds, OCR & NCFE
- Awarded Customer First Quality Standard
- 10 new members of staff appointed (6 of whom recruited locally from Haringey)
2004 - Turnover in 2003/04 was £930k.
The past 5 years: 2004 - 2009
2004 - KIS moves to new premises at Sentinel House, Tottenham Hale
2005 - KIS receives a "Young Person's Award" from Connexions
- Emmanuel Blackman leaves the organisation to re-locate with his family to France and
Sean Headley takes over as CEO
- KIS rebranded with new pink and black logo and introduction of new strapline:
"helping people into education, enterprise & employment"
- Awarded £2m LSC-funded Mind The Gap programme supporting 16-19 year olds with
Basic Skills & Employment Support
- Sean Headley elected Chair of North London Training Partnership & Vice-Chair
(Transition) of London Work-Based Learning Alliance
2006 - New Executive Management Team appointed:

- Awarded £478k LDA-funded contract to deliver training, employment and business
support to Women In Non-Traditional Occupations
2007 - Won £1m Train to Gain contract as Lead Partner for North London-based Consortium of
16 colleges and training providers
- Awarded Youth Mark Quality Standard
2008 - KIS acquired by Monument Equity Employment Enterprise & Training Services
- Won Haringey City Growth Award for "Best Business Support"
- Externally validated with first Ofsted inspection
2009 - Turnover for 2008/2009 was £4m
