The idea of supporting Teenage Cancer Trust as one of the chosen charities of the year was put forward by KIS staff member John Stirrat, in support of his friend Amy who was suffering from Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. It was later discovered that Amy was already supporting her charity, CLIC Sargent which was helping her through her fight with cancer as it was her wish to raise as much as she could in order to leave a legacy.
On Monday 9 February 2009 Amy lost her battle with Cancer and as per her wish passed away at home in the comfort of her own surroundings and alongside her family.
To learn more about Amy and her fight with the disease, visit her personal blog here.
