KIS Training is delighted to announce the launch of Be Inspired - a new alternative education programme for under 16s. This new program replaces our existing Aspirations programme.
Aspirations has been running in Haringey successfully for five years and had demonstrated success in providing a full-time education alternative for students for whom mainstream education is not suitable. The program consists of personal and social development combined with formal educational qualifications for pre-16 students, and has had a major positive impact on the lives of many young people facing exclusion from mainstream schooling.
Be Inspired differs from our Aspirations programme as it offers a term-by term attendance, instead of a full year. The programme will now be modular and will run three times per year, with the expressed aim of achievement at the core of the learning programme. Students referred to the provision would enter the programme for one term at any given time.
Sean Headley, CEO of KIS Training, says "Be Inspired has presented a genuine challenge for the tutors and staff involved who, while anxious not to lose the intrinsic values of the Aspirations programme, realise there has been an increasing need to re-structure the provision to respond to the diverse needs of those students entrusted to our care."
"As educationalists, we must be realistic in the goals for young people at risk of exclusion. Be Inspired seeks to embrace this realism in offering real learning opportunities in a setting that is tailored to meet the needs of our students".
