Youth and Playwork
Youthwork & Playwork
NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Developing Skills for Working with Children and Young People
Who is this qualification for?
If you are interested in working with children and young people but have not yet fully decided on a particular job role preference, this course is for you.
The course will help you achieve a formal qualification to show you have the skills needed to work in early years' education, childcare and play work. You will also gain placement experience without committing yourself to a particular aspect of working with children.
Youth & Playwork is ideally suited to a wide range of learners, including adult learners, school leavers with little work experience, 14-16 year-olds who are interested in this area, and those who appreciate the support offered by a mediated learning experience.
What the course offers
- A basic awareness of potential careers in working with children and young people aged 0-15 years.
- The opportunity to gain a ‘flavour’ of the differences between settings and apply relevant skills in their work with children and young people.
- Skills common to both early years education and childcare and play work.
- A framework to gain the knowledge and understanding required to become a useful worker in this sector.
- The opportunity to prove your ability, under supervision, in a work related setting.
- An recognised qualification to help develop your employment prospects.
- Access to further training at a higher level.
