KIS Training celebrates local community achievements

Keeping It Simple Training celebrates its 10th anniversary with an Awards Ceremony to recognise the achievements of the local community. Twenty one awards will be presented at Recognising Achievement held at the Bernie Grant Arts Centre on Monday 14th September to past and present clients KIS Training has supported to achieve qualifications, gain employment or develop successful businesses. Alexander Amosu, one of Haringeys most famous and successful entrepreneurs, is the Guest of Honour invited to present the awards.

"Our 10th Anniversary Awards ceremony is dedicated to all the clients with whom we have worked over the past 10 years", said Sean Headley, co-founder of KIS Training and Chief Executive from 2005 - 2009, "and to recognising their many and diverse achievements. We are very proud of their successes and would like to thank all our partners who have helped us make a positive impact on the lives and futures of many local residents and businesses."

Since its inception in June 1999, KIS Training has assisted over 5000 people into work, self-employment, further education or training, provided support and training to ver 6000 young people and advised and assisted over 2500 local entrepreneurs and businesses.

Darrell Spencer, DNAi, a Haringey-based multimedia design company said:

"KIS Training has played a major role in the success of DNAi - always there with advice, training and support to give me the confidence and know-how to take my own business to the next level and to deal with some major players."

James Burns, Raw Images, who has been engaged to do the photography for the "Recognising Achievement" event said:

"KIS helped get my careef off the ground - they gave me credence, confidence and the opportunity to prove myself. They have supported me throughout the development of my business and are a great source of help to local entrepreneurs."

Margaret Okwuosa, who is receiving an Outstanding Achievement Award for gaining a Distinction in the OCR National Certificate in Business at KIS Training said:

"KIS Training had a wonderful impact on my life. The trainers and advisers have encouraged me to achieve my full potential and the business course really pushed me to strive and excel. I now have a clear business plan and goals for the future - this would not have been possible, without help from KIS Training team - thank you all so much."

In 2006, KIS Training was awarded a 1m contract as Lead Partner of a North-London based Train to Gain Consortium. The Consortium has since helped 1400 employees across the capital gain NVQ Level 2 & 3 qualifications.

Stuart Turner takes over as Chief Executive of KIS Training on Monday 14th September 2009 to replace Sean Headley who has been appointed Chief Executive of Monument Equity Employment and Enterprise Training Services from July 2010. Stuart brings to KIS Training a wealth of experience in organisational and business development with over 18 years in the adult training and education sector.

"Our aim is to help support people into employment and to work with local employers to develop the local business community and workforce", commented Stuart Turner, "I am delighted, as the new Chief Executive of KIS Training, to continue to build on the sound foundations Sean has established and to lead the organisation forward with our next 10 year vision - to be the number one provider of employability skills for the global workforce".
