One of KIS Training's Leaving Care clients, Suad, has landed a prime position amongst celebrity chef Jamie Oliver’s latest batch of trainees at his East London training restaurant FIFTEEN.
Suad competed with hundreds of applicants for a place on the programme and it was her impressive description of her life in care and her desire to help other people which won her a place at the prestigious FIFTEEN.
Zoe, Suad's Leaving Care Adviser from KIS Training, accompanied her to the reception at FIFTEEN in March to celebrate with Jamie Oliver and the rest of the successful applicants. The course will be hard work, but trainees receive a great deal of support during their training.
FIFTEEN was set up by Jamie Oliver to give disadvantaged young people the chance to train for a career that might otherwise have been out of their reach. So far, 37 young people have graduated from the programme, with several now working in some of the world’s best restaurants.
KIS Training's dedicated Leaving Care team of Personal Advisers are based at Haringey Children's Services and deliver support services to young people leaving care. For more information, please contact Simon Matson on 020 8489 5806 or at simon.matson@haringey.gov.uk
We all wish Suad the very best of luck on the programme.
