Keeping It Simple actively assist individuals in reaching their full entrepreneurial potential. Our Enterprise Team are proud to be associated with an exciting and innovative new Social Enterprise, Stars In The Sky, who recently launched their new venture with assistance from Keeping It Simple.
One year ago, Lolita Jones and Pauline Geipel noticed a gap in the market. As Lydia says: "People with learning disabilities have as much right to a loving sexual relationship as anyone else, but we do have to be more careful as they can be vulnerable".
Because both Lolita and Pauline have learning difficulties themselves, they understood their target market so all they needed was some help and advice from North London-based training provider and DTI Approved Enterprise Agency, Keeping It Simple. Pauline and Lolita set up Stars In The Sky, the UK's only dating agency for people with learning disabilities which is now thriving with 300 members on their books. And while there are no wedding bells in sight just yet, Lydia confirms "One couple are still together after a year.
Said CEO, Sean Headley,: "We are delighted to have been able to assist this truly pioneering and unique Social Enterprise and join with the "stars of the show" in wishing them every success for the future!"
Stars In The Sky also won the 2005 Haringey City Growth Business Award For "Best New Business 2006".
Stars In The Sky will be featured on Channel 4's "Only Human" programme on Thursday 13th July. Star's In The Sky's website can be accessed at: http://www.starsinthesky.co.uk
