Course Outline
Week One Introduction & Icebreakers Designed to allow the team to get to know each other through icebreaking activities and energisers.
Week Two Team Building ResidentialAn outward bound residential where teamwork is the key. This week comprises of team building activities such as canoeing, rafting and caving. These residentials are arranged at various national locations.
Week 3-5 Team ProjectThis is where the team chooses a project in the local community. It can be anything as long as it is benefiting the community. An example of this may be re-decorating a community centre. Making it a clean, fresh environment for all that use it.
Week 6-8 Individual Work PlacementMembers of the team are given the chance to find a work placement for themselves. The aim of this is to allow every individual to gain first hand experience, confidence and knowledge in a profession of their choice.
Week 9 Next Steps WeekThis is where the volunteers attend a CV writing and interview technique workshop. The week also includes an educational workshop e.g. drugs awareness.
Week 10 Preparation for the final team challengeDuring this week the team will make the preparations for the final team challenge through organised fundraising to complete the final task.
Week 11 Final Team ChallengeLike the project this challenge can be anything that the team decides to do; whether it be a soup run for homeless or organising a day event for under privileged children.
Week 12 Final Team Presentation
The team plans, prepares and organises a presentation to mark their achievements over the period of the course. This includes an award ceremony. The team invite friends, family and the local community to participate in their celebrations.
